accidently created a new volume on the wrong disk

Thread needs solution

Disk Director Home 2011 for windows 7 64 bit. I accidently selected and created a new volume on the wron

g disk and committed changes on drive S. now all my files are gone. Is there anyway of retrieving or files. I have not moved any files to new the S disk.

Have you or anyone else done this before?
Are the steps
1."Analyse" to check your current partition structure and search for lost partition.
2. Write to save the partition structure
3. Recover NTFS boot sector from its backup

After you have identified the deleted partition, click p to list your files. If this is correct, you can write the new partition structure.

You may want to consider PhotRec which will just recover deleted files. This might be safer since you will probably want to reformat the disk after recovery. Have a look.
