Created image of internal SSD on laptop will not restore back - "Failed to copy disks"

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I made a system image of my laptop after purchase before using it. I want to revert back to the factory state so I wanted to restore it.

I am restoring to the same disks.

There are 2 physical drives on the laptop.
An internal SSD and a traditional rotary hard disk.

The problem I am having is with the internal SSD.

When I select the internal SSD as the target, I get the errors:

"Recovery to 'Disk 3' to: Not specified"
Failed to copy disks.
Cannot perform this action.
Cannot resize the volume.
Cannot perform this action.

I have attached a screenshot as reference. I am using the latest build of Acronis as of today, using the boot media option.

Has anyone seen this problem before? Thanks.

Hello Michael,

please contact our support for assistance. The issue seems to be system specific and the investigation will require logs and a system report.

In the meanwhile as a workaround you can check if WinPE-based bootable media helps.

Thank you.
