False "Successful" backup indication
I have my computer scheduled to do a monthly system backup with Acronis Ture Image Home 2010. Last night I went to make sure the backup was successful by looking it the TASKS AND LOG link in the True Image software and the calendar showed a successful backup (green block on the date). I went to look at my backup drive to confirm a successful backup and it wasn't communicating with my computer so I re-plugged the USB cable and re-established the connection. When I looked for the backup file on the backup drive, it wasn't there. I went back to the calendar in the True Image Tasks and Log and selected the green block on the date the backup was to have successfully happened. I then expanded the task down in the Event Log section and it showed an error (system cannot find the path specified) because it couldn't find the backup drive. Why does the calendar show a successful backup, and shouldn't I be notified in some way if a scheduled backup fails?

Hello all,
Extract the downloaded file, run install.bat and wait for the process to be completed. The utility will automatically update the service.
3) Reboot the computer and re-create the task. The issue should be resolved.

I recently solved a repeating blue screen problem with TI 2010, build 6053 (KB6529 issue). I found it rather annoying that even though the job failed halfway through, and the backup script never completed with a 'succeeded' message, the task management screen still showed them as 'successful' jobs. If the task never completed, how could it be successful?
Will the Acronis Scheduler app noted in step 2 above fix that? What exactly does it do?

Hello Greg,
Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.
Acronis scheduler is an utility that installs the latest build of Acronis scheduler available for now. It updates the scheduler, and, if the scheduler is already up-to-date, this batch file performs an in-place re-installation. That's why I would recommend you to run this utility in order to fix the encountered issue.

Hi Oleg,
You should include with your instructions that the install batch file needs to run under Administrator privileges. i.e., for those of us on Vista, use the right-click 'Run as Administrator' option to launch it.
If you don't, the batch file fails. And since you have echo off, you don't see the failure notices.

Well, the v.385 scheduler is installed and working fine.
As to whether it fixed the issue with failed jobs showing as successful, I don't know. Luckily, everything is working well. I'll have to wait until something fails to be sure.
