"Installer cannot continue because one of True Image tools is running. Please close the running tool and restart the installer."
Error log:

It does help to have the ATI _2015 repair disk and an image for the drive you want to clone on the Acronis cloud or a network drive to retrieve it from.If by chance you are using a recovery process rather than cloning: when cloning it helps to have the ISO recorder disk pre-made prior to beginning

Jingles, with respect, your comments don't at all relate to the problem described ...

I experienced exactly the problem that Filip Engels (and at least one other here) described. I made multiple attempts to install, each one failing after the download completed and during the file unpacking process. I disabled firewall, suspended anti-virus, ran install as administrator, each time ending in same place with same message - that an Acronis program was running and needed to be stopped. But no Acronis program or any associated service was running.

So, just for the hell of it, I downloaded the 30 day free trial version. It installed without a hitch! So I registered it with my serial number and the past product serial number (as I had purchased an upgrade).

Can't explain it - but it might be worth a try by others having this or a similar experience.

Happy New Year 2015, everyone!

John N.

Jon N is correct with respect to the word "install" Jon is reading every word. The ultimate choice of ATI_2015 is using the disk bootable DVD or download button. I used the download button then assigned my serial number to the download but when I visited registration I had zero products logged even though the activate button turned green when I placed the serial number in the original "install" thus I could never get the message "another tool running" to go away.

My best guess was once I actually registered things cleared up.

Above this I was mainly writing about an activated application in reference to back-up and recovery or clone process it has the same error message in build 6325 "another tool running....". No error code assigned as in a trap statement to clue if the same error 'message' applies to multiple reasonable 'messages' with the same statement.
