Just upgraded from 2013 to 2014 premium. Very slow backup.
A new backup of my C drive to another internal hard disk took 75 minutes last week using 2013.
Yesterday a similar backup took 225 minutes using 2014 premium.
The hard disk contents changed due to the 2014 upgrade and the addition of a few data files. The size of the resultant backup file was 162.7 GB with 2013 and 168.5 GB with 2014.
What's up with this? How do I switch back to 2013?

Hello, I suggest that you run chkdsk on all drives and partitiions in your systems. 2014 scans all disks of your system for errors prior to backup including removeable drives. This scan adds to overall backup time, if errrors are found it adds more time as well. Any hidden partitions should have a temporary drive letter assigned them so that chkdsk can be run on those as well.

Enchantech, your reply merely serves to distract from the problem which is that somehow Acronis 2014 is SSLLOOOOWW and this crippling has little or nothing to do with This, That or The Other. Have tried it with backing from SSD to HDD and SSD to SSD - the destination SSD being a 512GB Samsung 840 Pro. Using politics to address a techical issue merely aims to bin the issue into a technicality - which it isn't. It is plain ole cowpoking slow and "Arcronis" knows it but it ain't saying anything about it.

I have 5 licenses for 2014. Backup for a 1TB(Only 250GB is in use) Windows 7 disk drive went from 20 minutes to 6 hours. My data drive, 2tb, went from 5 hours to 3 days and failed due to how long it took to run. I am NOT using sector backup settings.
This is unacceptable. Please provide a detailed answers as to why performance is so slow. Whether I backup to a different internal drive, E-SATA or USB3, performance has made this tool ineffictive. Does the version 2015 address this situation? If so, you should provide a free upgrade for those of us who have been failthfully using your product for years. If not I would like to get a refund so I can find and buy a tool which actually works.
