Hi
Thanks for the reply, i am pretty sure i haven't tried to install version 10 on this server, i just tried to upgrade to the latest version 9 update and then this error happened after i had got true image for sbs updated, is the clean up tool still the best option and will it work for version 9?

Hello Condies IT Support,
Thank you for replying.
The Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 clean up utility will remove most of the version 9 traces from your machine.
After running the clean up utility, if the issue with installing the Acronis Universal Restore component re-occurs, please generate an .msi log and an AcronisInfo report.
Please send me a PM with these 2 reports attached so that I can continue assisting you.
Let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.

Hi I have pm'd you with the files as requested, i ran the clean up util and rebooted the server, then installed the license manager and backup then when installing the universal restore it again said that it had been interupted.
i am not sure the cleanup util did everthing though as the license manager brought up the license that was already installed, i was expecting to have to enter that again if the clean up util had removed everything
cheers

Hello Condies IT Support,
Thank you for getting back to me. I appreciate the logs that you provided, I believe I found the reason for this issue. It is very likely that you are trying to install a different version of the Acronis Universal Restore component. I have checked your account with us and there are different language versions of Acronis True Image Echo for MS SBS. You have one for the UK version and one for the US version.
I will send you a PM with the correct download links, please download both of them, to avoid any confusion, install both of the components so that we are 100% sure that there is no package difference.
Kindly let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.

Hi
this has worked an i have now got universal restore installed, i had never noticed the difference in the versions before.
it has however now poped up another problem in that when i run a backup i just have disk 1 selected which has 3 partion's, but whats strange is that when i set the job up it lists a disk2 that doesn't exsist, I have looked through disk management through windows and there are no disk that size listed, so i only select disk1 and complete the job setup.
When i then run the job it says analyzing partition 2-3 which i would assume would be disk 2 partion 3 and at that point i get an error E00010f4: failed to read the data from the disk, failed to read from the sector 729, 050, 305 of the hard disk2
I haven't selected hard disk 2 to backup, but if i click cancel it then goes on to perform the backup but this isn't ideal as i now have to wait for it to error so that i can get a full backup.
have you got any idea as to what would cause this?
cheers
Tom

Good morning, Tom,
I appreciate your reply.
To answer your question, I would like to ask you for additional information. Where is your backup location?
Can you please send me a PM with the following information.
1. Screenshots of the hard drives shown in the Windows disk management window.
2. Screenshots of the hard drives from the Acronis interface, how it detects them.
3. Screenshot of the error message.
5. Windows System Information File.
Once I receive them I will be able to answer your question more precisely.
Thank you.
