Windows 10 tech preview with "try and decide"?

Thread needs solution

Hello Ye Experts;
I am contemplating trying out Windows 10 tech preview and was wondering if this can be run in Acronis TRY AND DECIDE as a virtual machine. Anyone tried this and, if so, what are your thoughts?
Thanks,
Doug

Hi Doug,
Assuming windows 8/8.1 here. If you are going to run an OS as a virtual machine, I don't see why you need Acronis. I found this using Google:

Looks straight forward. It is already known that windows 10 overwrites the recovery partition of a windows 8.1 PC making it impossible to restore the previous install without first restoring the old recovery partition, or by using a windows 8/8.1 recovery drive (usb). This is well documented on the web. You should be able to use HyperV to install and run 10 as a VM. If you have windows 7 I would not rely on Try and Decide, but instead would create a full disk image back up to restore my system from. While I haven't attempted this myself, I have provided support to others who have and have seen the pitfalls. I feel running as a VM is the most practical since when closed, you still have your existing OS intact.

Thanks Shadowsports, I may go ahead and see if I can find an inexpensive win8 machine just to give the preview a try. My win7 machine works great so I really don't want to make it unhappy. I would like to get an idea how win10 is shaping up and, if any of my humble suggestions might collectively help, maybe we'll get an os that will please business, industry and the mobile social media crowds. Thanks again.
