Acronis fails to boot when cloning a disk

Thread needs solution

I recently purchased an SSD from Crucial which came with a copy of Acronis True Image. However I am having trouble cloning my current bootable hdd onto my recently purchased SSD. I complete all the steps but when Acronis reboots to start the cloning process I get a kernel panic message. I've attached a quick picture I took of the message. Any advice?

I also installed a new SSD about 6 months ago on a WIn7 computer and moved my OS from the HDD to the new SSD.
Although I used TIH2014, I would hope 2015 would be the same. I did not use the "Clone" option.

I made a "Disk Image" of my current OS (Win7/64) using the installed TIH... Have never used the "Clone" option.
Shut down machine after image was verified.
Unplugged the sata cable from the source OS disk.
Booted from the TIH recovery disc.
Restored the image from my internal backup storage disk.
Booted to the new SSD without any trouble.

Maybe that procedure would work for you.
Good Luck,
Steve

A backup and restore as suggested by Perdido is probably your best bet. The other option would be to create a WinPE disk to boot the machine and run the clone tool from there if you insist on cloning.
