AMS seems to be hogging all the RAM and then crashes

Thread needs solution

Hello there Acronis community,

we have this problem for some time now and are trying to fix this, without reinstalling our whole configuration (if that's even possible, but we do hope so..).

We have Acronis Backup 11.5 on our server and it handles the backups of itself and of the computers in our office. For some time now, every time we try to start the AMS service, it barely works and when it works, it works for like a minute, hogs all the RAM (for example up to 1,2 Gb of it, that can't be normal, memory leak?) and when it can't get more, it just crashes. And when we try to connect to our AMS, we get the generic "Can't connect to the AMS, please start the service" etc. and it doesn't really help, because we know that the service is not running..

Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

We are running Build 11.5.32256, which seems to be the latest one.

Thank you.

Best regards,
DerWanderer42

Hello DerWanderer42,

in fact the latest build of Acronis Backup 11.5 is 38929.

Please register your serial number under your account, download and install the latest build.

If it doesn't improve the situation, please contact our support.

Thank you.

Hello,

I managed to get it working again, with the help of the Acronis Support. I want to document it here, if someone else may find this topic while searching.

I followed these Articles :

First this one : https://kb.acronis.com/content/31547

After the one above, this one : https://kb.acronis.com/content/32587

And it worked! My Database was 1,4 Gb big before, so it looks like the ManagementServer.exe process couldn't handle the size, hogged all the RAM and then crashed, because it couldn't get more. Now it is only 32mb big and everything works fine now.

Cheers,
Ohaim
