No F11 prompt on bootup or restart

Thread needs solution

Having installed and created a Rescue Disk (following the install instructions), my PC used to display a prompt to press F11 if I wanted to launch True Image 11 Home. That prompt no longer appears.
I did not (intentionally) turn it off and I can't find a menu option to enable me to turn it back on.
Please advise me how to reactivate the F11 prompt during startup?
Cheers,
Greg

Hello Greg,

I understand the question and will do everything possible from my side to give you a clear explanation.

Most probably you have removed Acronis Secure Zone which is necessary for Acronis Startup Recovery Manager activation. You could delete the Acronis Secure Zone partition by means of Windows Disk Management, for example.

In order to solve the issue please create Acronis Secure Zone (Tools -> Manage Acronis Secure Zone -> Create Acronis Secure Zone). Then activate Acronis Startup recovery Manager (Tools -> Activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager.

I would recommend you to look through user guide and read step-by-step description of Acronis Secure Zone and Acronis Startup Recovery Manager.

Acronis does not recommend creating the Acronis Secure Zone on a detachable drive. If you activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager and then for some reason disconnect the drive Acronis Secure Zone resides on, your computer may boot with a long delay or not boot at all. You will need to either reconnect the drive with the Acronis Secure Zone or fix the master boot record (MBR).

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

Hi. I have the same problem as Greg. However, in my case, I cannot find the Acronis True Image Home in my programs. I've already tried using search in windows to find acronis but it did not turn up any results. I just want to be able to run the acronis startup recovery manager by pressing F11 at startup like I used to. How can I do this?

Dmitry,

I do not get a ''Create Acronis Secure Zone'' option when I follow your instructions as shown above. I get options to increase or decrease the size but not to create a secure zone.

If I find the folder Acronis Secure Zone (which is on my external drive) and click on it nothing happens

I have tried activatingF11 in Backup Recovery but it keeps giving me a message that it failed

Hello all,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.
Josef,
Most probably, Acronis Startup Recovery Manager has been activated under Acronis Bootable Media. That's why you are unable to find any references in Windows. To activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager without installing the Windows part of the program you should create Acronis Bootable Media or find your old disk you have used previously, boot the system from it and activate this option.
To create a new disk please register your license under your account (you can learn more on how to do it in this article), go to the Registered products and downloads section -> Bootable media. Download the file.
Please see this article on how to burn an ISO file to a CD disk.
Boot the system under this CD and activate  Acronis Startup Recovery Manager.
Brian,
It looks like you already have Acronis Secure Zone, you don't need to create it again. I would recommend you to activate Acronis Startup Recovery Manager using  Acronis Bootable Media (please see the above information in this post). Acronis Bootable Media is based on Linux, and probably, Acronis Startup Recovery Manager will be activated successfully.
Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawlessly. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other questions do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.
