Drive letter changed - problem

If for any reason the drive letter of the hard disk set to save backup has been changed, Acronis True Image gets stuck without giving any feedback on the problem.
It has happened to me several times and every time True Image is just stuck, and "stop" doesn't work.

Can't you make the app to check not only the drive letter but the drive name, too and give an error when something like that is preventing the scheduled task to start the backing up process?

I found a similar problem recently. ATI did not exactly get stuck, but it notified me during a restore that the path to the backup I selected was unrecognised, though the drive (USB) and backup were all correct. I surmised the drive letter had changed.

I found (I think) a work around (for win 7) is to assign permanent drive letters to your drives. I used this link to assign some to all mine:
