What happens if initial backup is still running when time for next scheduled run? Why do backups hang on "Consolidate" stage?
Hello,
I am using Acronis True Image 2014 on 10 computers and backing up to a shared folder over LAN to a server. The initial backup from some of these computers will take over 24 hours to complete. Since i have it set to run every 24 hours, what will happen in the case the initial backup is still not done at the time it's scheduled to run the next time?

Thanks for your reply.
How do i know if the previous task is running by the time the next one is set to start if it will queue or cause the previous or new one to fail? You say depending on the task, what do you mean by that?
Environment:
- 1 Windows 2003 Server running on a Dell PowerEdge, Intel Xeon X3450 @ 2.66GHz, 8GB RAM, Backup drive is a Seagate External 3TB USB Drive
- 10+ Workstations (ranging between Intel Core 2 Duo with 3GB RAM to Intel Core i5 with 4GB RAM)
- LAN, ethernet, Cat5e, 100mbps network, all computers are connected to the same 24 port D-Link switch (non managed). Its a small office so the network cables are all under 20 meters in length.
- Backups are anywhere between 40-600GB per Workstation.
Operations: Disk Backup
A backup for 60GB initial Disk Backup takes about 7 hrs.
A backup for 400GB initial Disk Backup takes over 24 hours.
Is this normal?
Additional backups are quicker since ive set them up as incremental.
Validation is also taking very long, about as long as initial backups, is this normal?
Another issue ive run into is that if i have for example many versions of a backup, and then set "Automatic Consolidation Settings", "Number of backup versions exceeds" to 5, it will take forever to "Consolidate" at the end of running the backup, sometimes it never finishes (just hangs on Consolidate stage). Is this normal?
This is why i ended up recreating the backups in the first place over this weekend, i had over 100 versions of the backups in some cases and the hard drive got full, even though it was set to automatically delete old backups once this happened, since its 10+ running at the same time of the day, they were causing errors. I tried to set it to 5 versions but the process would always hang on Consolidate stage of the backup (last stage). Out of all the workstations it only worked on one, so i figured id start fresh, then was reminded of how long the original backups took.
