Viewing TI 2015 Backups on a Server

Thread needs solution

We back up many desktops using TI 2015 to an external hard drive connected to a server. Whenever we try to use Windows Explorer from the server to view files in a backup it can't read them because TI 2015 isn't on the server. When we tried to install TI 2015 there it said it wouldn't install because TI is a workstation product and not for server platforms. Using Windows Explorer to view files in the backup from the workstation itself takes way too long over the network. What product do we need to put on the server to be able to look at backups through Windows Explorer on the server itself? I'm worried that the server products aren't compatible with the TI image backups.

Hi Joel,
thank you for your question!
You are right, we don't guarantee compatibility of backup archives across different product lines, because we don't check this scenarios in our labs. However, usually archives created with Acronis True Image are successfully recognized with Acronis Backup.
You might want to download Acronis Backup trial and check if it will work in your environment.
Depending on the operating system you'll need either Acronis Backup for Windows Server or Acronis Backup for Windows Server Essentials.
Let me know if you have any additional questions.
Thank you.
