Clone of storage drive FAIL ! HELP ME PLEASE

Thread needs solution

So I have 3 drives on my computer win 7 64 bit, the C Drive and two storage drives. one of the storage drives a 1TD WD was at 931GD so I bought a 3TD WD and cloned the 1 tb drive to it, however once the process was done and it took several hours it showed my new 3tb drive only was 1TB with 931 gbs full!!! WTF did I do wrong, I tried chat with customer support but they could not understand what I have just told you. I Erased everything on the 3 TB drive and tried again using a different method and now it says its like a 2.1 tb drive with 931 gbs of info.. how can I fix this?

I don't think you have a problem. Drive makers report capacity using 1000MB per GB. Windows reports using 1024MB per GB. Thus your loss of capacity.

When you use the cloning tool in the automatic setting, you let the tool decide how to scale the partitions to take advantage of the bigger size. Depending on the partition type and location, that might not be the optimal solution. For example, a hidden partition like a recovery partition could be scaled proportionally without any benefit, but the net result is that your main partition ("c:\" let's say can end up smaller than necessary.
Try to do a manual clone. That will let you select the size of the corresponding cloned partition. YOu will visualize the layout of the cloned disk.
