Clone Windows 8.1 64bit to XP 32 Machine

Thread needs solution

Hi guys

new to this forum. my company was thinking to purchase Acronis True Image for an upgrading exercise. Will there be any issue cloning Windows 8.1 64bit(MAK licence) machine to the XP 32bit Machine ? the current reference(windows 8.1) pc partition are C: 100gb / D: 350gb , while the Xp is C: 150gb / D: 300gb

A 64bit version of Windows will not run on a 32bit machine so yes there is a problem with what you suggest.

Your machine architecture must support 64bit. If as you say your XP machine is a 32bit machine which I am guessing it is then a 64bit OS will not run on it no matter what you do. It boils down to the CPU architecture, an 32bit CPU will not run a 64bit OS. If your machine hardware supports 64bit then it would be possible to accomplish what you are looking to do however, based on what you have said so far I think that unlikely.

from my first thread, i did mention that we already have a windows 8.1 64bit reference image (with all the software, application , update installed) . same CPU. so right now, i want to clone this reference image and clone the rest of the lab machine (with the same specs as the reference PC) which have windows XP 32bit. so is it a possible feat ?

If the target machine hardware (motherboard, chipset, CPU) is 64 bit capable then yes.
