How To Make Computer B Identical to Computer A?

Thread needs solution

I need some help. I have two identical desktop computers. Computer A is my main computer that I have used intensively for a year. Computer B is identical hardware, but brand new and still in the unopened box. Both are ASUS 12GB Ram, 2TB HD, i7 Chips.

I want to make B identical to A. Perfectly identical... all data, apps and settings. I know I can't just take B's HD and swap it with A due to registry/bios/HAL conflicts, etc. But can Acronis be used to accomplish this? Universal Restore?? I have Acronis True Image Home 2015.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Jim

I don't see any reason why this cannot be done.
I have restored drives then plugged them into a different computer with very different hardware and everything worked fine.
Granted I ran that computer only for a short time when I first started using ATI 2015 just to test the restores so could be other issues that pop up like OS licensing or other software licensing issues, but for a short period at least, all apps opened and ran fan.
Oh I did have to install a compatible video driver, but that was it.

I don't understand the concern about just moving the disk. Windows activation might complain about the change of hardware, but you can fix this with Microsoft automated support for activation by phone.
