Cannot initialize Backup Archive Explorer. Please reinstall True Image. (0x6400F8) TI2014

Thread needs solution

Only part of my problem with TI2014 is mounting ISO images.

Trying to load an iso yields error message "Cannot initialize Backup Archive Explorer. Please reinstall True Image. (0x6400F8) Tag = 0x77A5DDBA3199E2BD The versions of the modules are incompatible. (0x9) code = E0000009) Tag = 0x77A5DDBA3199E2BE." What's the next step to get this to work?

The other part of a tale of woe is that I lost a drive (not system) to multiple failures. No problem, I thought, I have all on an external USB HD that is only turned on to let TI run backups of both full OS and, separately, all the files of interest. Come morning, I find Comcast has fully updated Norton Utilities. Meanwhile, I go to examine TI backups and find NOTHING!!, not a trace of all of the directory structures written by TI. Tried Recuva - sees thousands of files, but since it only handles "standard" files, can't do anything. Tried ISObuster - it sees and reports data on a cluster by cluster basis but has no clue has to how to recover them since it does not "know" about TI formats. Has anyone seen this problem and, more importantly, has anyone a clue as to how I might recover some or all of the lost file backups.

Answering the first part of my first question - I confused an ISO image with TI definition. The latter is the image file as in True Image (duh). The failure traces to the second part - TI can't find the images it saved.
