GFS Cleanup Isn't Working -- What did I do Wrong?
I have my primary HD setup with a GFS backup scheme using the latest build of Backup & Recovery Workstation 10. I have it set to keep monthly backups for 2 months, weekly backups for 4 weeks, and daily backups for 7 days. The backups themselves execute without issue.
I'm coming up on the 1 month mark. I currently have 1 full backup (the first monthly). I have three differentials (the weekly backups). This is all correct.
The problem is that I also have 18 incrementials. Some are attached to all of the differentials and the full. Shouldn't I only have 7 of these?
How can I get them to be cleaned up correctly and automatically?

Almost a month with no replies here or from acronis support. Why bother trying?

I have exactly the same problem. None of my incrementals are deleting. Any resolution to this?

Hello NemesisDB,
Thank you very much for your posts. I would like to apologize for the inconvenience and the long delay.
I found your submitted case with the GFS issue, and have requested from the Management team to take care of it as soon as possible.
I would really appreciate to provide us with some additional information so that we can troubleshoot the GFS cleanup issue.
2. Screenshots of every step of the backup plan creation.
3. Detailed screenshots of your GFS scheme.
With that information, can you please reply to the e-mail that you received from our support engineer, so that all the troubleshooting information will be available.
Danny Milla,
I would really appreciate if you can submit a support request from your Acronis web-account with the same set of logs and screenshots, that will allow us to troubleshoot the GFS issue. After that, please give me the case number, either here or through a PM, so that I can assign it to a support engineer.
Please gentlemen, if you have any other questions, let me know.

As an FYI - I see the same thing.
I have a half dozen, or so, GFS backup policies I created under version 11345. The good new is that on all of them the backups occur just fine. The bad news is that none of them consolidate/purge old backups at all. The cleanup task runs and completes with no errors, it just doesn't actually do anything.
I have an open support ticket on this as well (Case 00685921). I'll try to post the resolution on here when/if I get one.
Jason

Unfortunately I've been too busy to spend much time troubleshooting this.
Naturally the first suggestion given to me by support was for me was to delete the tasks and start over. Given my space limitations, this would have also required me to delete many of the backup files (since the new task would start everything from scratch with a new series of fulls). It would have also taken weeks if not months to see if the "fix" worked. At which point, I'm sure a new version would be out, and I'd be told to install it, delete the tasks, and try again.
It seems easier just to manually delete archives from time to time. Perhaps they'll get it working one day. Perhaps one day the troubleshooting team won't start with 'try it again, just like you had it, and maybe it will work this time.'
