Clone vs Entire PC backup

Thread needs solution

My Lenovo laptop is being sent in for warranty work and I've been warned that they may wipe out all of my installed information.  I have entire PC backup but not a clone. My laptop has SSD and HHD drives.  If I make a clone to an external drive, does it clone the SSD and HHD at the same time or do I need two external drives for the cloning process.

Which is more appropriate for my potential scenerio; the clone or Entire PC backup?  Thanks!

If you made the entire PC backup using TI in disk mode you should be able to restore the backup to the new;y wiped drive(s). Excatly hwo did you do the backup?

I used "Entire PC" rather than "Disks and Partitions".  However,  if I try to add to my present backup, then I see that the two drives (SSD & HHD) are in the Entire PC backup.  Should I be using "Disks and Partions"?  Thanks for the help.

My suggestion would be to perfrom a Disk Mode backup of the drive that contains the OS and a files and folders backup of the other drive to an external hard drive. If the other drive has applications installed then do a disk mode backup of that drive instead of files and folders. Run these as two separate backup jobs.
