Error opening configuration file

Thread needs solution

TI runs fine for a while, then I get

Error while opening configuration file
Error occured while creating the file

then :

The specified file does not exist

I cancel the job which requires killing all Acronis Tasks with Task manager, deleting the job and recreating it. The new job runs for a few days or weeks and then recurs. This is incredibly annoying because it happens to several of my customers requiring me driving out to their site to clean up this mess.

Is there any fix that will keep this from happening?

There used to be a log for each job I could view for each backup job but I can't find a way to see it from the 2015 user interface. Am I missing something?

Thanks for any assistance with this error.

Task execution failed email.

The missing file sound like it could be a connection or sleep issue with the target.

Should you have any issues when accesing NAS by the name, do the following:

specify your NAS using UNC-path: \\NASname\ShareName
specify it by the IP address, e.g. \\IPofNAS\ShareName

The cause could be an issue with the usb3 connection, which may be dropping out or at sleep. I would investiage the usb3 disk to to make sure that is not happening. Disable the sleep option on the USB3 disk. I have attached several links as examples. Another place to look is the Start progams/Western Digital menus. Often times there is listed a utility which is used in changing the sleep times on Western Digital external disks.

Other usb stop sleep links:

The easiest viewing of log file is to get the backup results mailed via email. This can be done by enabling notificsation with the backup task.
Or, when viewing the log file via Notepad, the log file named "service plus backup date" has the most information.
The log files are found in C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome]logs
