I believe what you are trying to do is "Adding an existing backup to the list".

This is covered in paragraph 4.4.5 of the user manual, starting on page 62.  Once the backup is added to the list, you should be able to validate it.

Please let us know if this works.

Many thanks FtrPilot It has allowed me to add the new backup but when i select validate it does not show the validation taking place it just shows stop if i right click the backup again but does not show the validation taking place at the bottom of the software as it has done on other backups it must be doing something as the drive light on the backup drive is flashing also i notice that you do not get a confirmation when a validation has completed that the backup is okay as you do with other backup software.

The results of the validation are sent to a Log.  The log files are the following folder:

C:\programdata\Acronis\TrueImageHome\logs

The logs can be viewed in Notepad. I believe if you double click on the file, it will display the file in Internet Explorer.  However, you could save yourself some time and enable the email notification so the results are sent to your email.

Do a search on "email notification" in the user manual and eventually you will come to the section which explains how to set up email notifications.

An example of the email results:

Many thanks for you help FtrPilot I have had a lot of trouble with ATI 2016 locking up my computer at startup so i have removed it and have asked Acronis for a refund although no reply  as yet

option 1:

http://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2016/index.html#1…

The above link shows how to manually validate when booted from the user created TI Recovery CD.

----------------------------------------------------------------

option 2:

You should also be able to browse Windows explorer to the tib backup file and

Right click on the tib file and choose the option "acronis" and then further select validate.

----------------------------------

option 3: validate from within windows within TrueImage

-------------------------------------

option 4:

Have the validation setting enabled so validation occurs during the windows backup.

---------------------------

option 5:

When booted from the TI recovery CD, have validation performed as part of the backup.

Grover,

Thanks for right click tip...I will keep that in my bag of tricks.
