Thread needs solution

Hi,

Wondering if someone else has had this problem & can help. I have a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 machine & trying to install Acronis Backup & Recovery 10. While trying to install I receive the following error.

"Installing Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Packages
Cannot install ManagementConsole package because libX11.so.6 is not installed."

I have also downloaded the windows Management Console to try & connect into the Linux box but I also receive error Cannot establish connection. check the specified machine address.

Thanks
John

Hello John,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

Acronis Backup & Recovery Management Console requires X Server to be installed as it can be run in GUI mode only. If you do not have X Server installed you can manage your backup operations using trueimagecmd tool which is included into Acronis Backup & Recovery Agent installation.

According to our database, you are an owner of Acronis Backup&Recovery 10 Server for Linux. This is a standalone version of Acronis software, you are unable to connect and manage the operations remotely.

If you want to use the program remotely, you should purchase the Acronis Backup&Recovery 10 Advanced Server license and use Acronis Agent for Linux, it enables disk-level and file-level data protection under Linux and can be managed remotely.

Please let me know if the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question.

Thank you.
