Recovery CD reboots system after initial Acronis load
I recently bought a new Alienware M71xR2 laptop... and was suprized that the Acronis True Image Home 2010 Recovery CD wouldn't boot into the application. After I make the selection of ATI at the menu, the screen flashes for about a second and then the system reboots.
Relevant facts:
I've upgraded to the latest build (7046)
I have used both the downloaded ISO and the self-generated ISO
Everything works fine when running windows
I was able to select the Report option from the boot menu (and have included it here).

Hi Emmet,
Welcome to the forum.
Most likely the Rescue CD does not have the proper drivers for your specific hardware. You can open a support ticket and request that an alternate CD be provided with drivers for your specific machine; or you can send a private message to some the support people posting on this forum and supply them with the same information. Be sure that you have registered your TrueImage software.

Hello,
GroverH, thanks for your help, you're absolutely correct.
Emmet, let me add a few words to GroverH's recommendations. Please try to use an alternate bootable CD. You can download the ISO image from your account. It's more up to date than the standard bootable media, it was updated in the end of May.
- Log in to your account;
- Once logged in, click My Products & Downloads:
- Scroll down to the registered product and click Bootable Media:
- Click Download:
-
Acronis Bootable Media will be downloaded as an ISO file. See Burning an ISO Image.
If the issue still persists, please collect Linux System Report (using the downloaded ISO image) along with Windows System Information and submit a request to support.
Thank you.
