Incremental BU status is "Retrieving information" and doesn't go anywhere...

Thread needs solution

When running "Back Up Now" the status is "Retrieving information" and that's all it does...I've been retrieving information for an hour or more several times and never have got a backup made.

Here are the PC stats:

MB: Asrock Z170 Extreme7+

CPU: Intel I7-6700k OC'd at 4.7

GPU(s): 2 - EVGA GTX580s on slots 2 & 4 in SLI

HDD: 2 - Seagate 1TB ST31000524AS in RAID 0 => Volume_0000, Boot drive

HDD: 1 - Seagate 1TB ST310005N1A1A5-RK used for backup

SSD: 1 - Intel 311 SSD 20 GB, dedicated cache to Volume_0000

Memmory: 16 GB 2 - GSkill DDR4 3600 F4-3600C17D-8GTZ OC'd at 3600

PSU: 1000 Watt Cool Master Gold

Your boot drive configuration having an SSD cache is much like a hybrid drive.  Hybrid drives are not supported by True Image for cloning or recovery operations because the recovery environment being linux based does not support the cache.  See the link below:

If you are using Intel IRST to accomplish this hybrid drive arrangment it is recommended that you disable the cache before backup of the drive(s) as the cache once again causes errors.

So, you should remove the cache drive from the backup and/or restore/clone equation when using the product.

I have the same issue as Merowland01 when attempting to backup my Mac to the Acronis Cloud. I do not have a hybrid drive and my backups have started in the past, but with mixed results. I believe I had one successful backup out of about 5 tries. This is my latest try and clearly the backup is not working for reasons I don't understand. I'm afraid Acronis backup to cloud seems to need some work as my experience with different computers on different networks has been spotty at best. I have asked for a refund of the price of the onine service and have been dendied. This is unfortunate because clearly the online backup service is not ready for prime time.

I attempted to paste a screenshot but was unsuccessful. So i have attached the file. The left side shows my MacBook Air and the right shows the Acronis Cloud with Retrieving Informaiton under it, and this has been showing for about an hour. One key problem with Acronis software is that it doesn't show what is really happening. I doubt it really has been retrieving information for over an hour! Acronis should show what is happening and show appropriate error messages, which it does not.

Any suggestions?

You are seeing the same behavior in the application but it is not the same issue as the OP.  Please start a new thread for you issue, you will have much better response from the Forum Community
