Delete 'Whole Backup' option doesn't work but delete 'Only Settings' works. Build 6569.
In order to physically delete an old bkup I have to go into Windows File Explorer to do it. When I request the 'Whole backup' (physical file + settings) option it says its deleteing but it spins and spins. I have to resort to Windows to actually remove the file. No error msgs or anything else. Just spins.
Windows 10, TI 2016, build 6569.
Thanks for any help.
Bob

Also, if you've already manually deleted the files and try to delete the whole backup, you get this issue. You can ony delete a "whole backup" if the original files are in the same location with the original name that they were created in.
It's normal behavior (although not super intuitive) that deleting the "whole backup" fails if the backup files are not there. In that case, deleting the "settings only" is correct and will accomplish what you want.
If the backup files are there, they have never been modifed manually, renamed, moved to a different folder, etc and you get this error, that may be an underlying issue. You can test, but creating a new sample backup with a new script/task and let it run to completion. Then right after, delete the "whole backup" without doing anything else. Does it delete or still give the same error?

External HDD - connected by USB type 3.

Hello Bob (bioya1),
As suggested by Bobbo, the issue could be in at least 1 file missing or not accessible in its original location. In order to prevent this issue from occurring in the future, do not rename, move or delete .tib files outside of Acronis application (e.g. in Windows Explorer).
Another possibility is that when you attempted to delete the backup, external HDD was in power-saving mode (you can disable it as described at http://www.ghacks.net/2009/05/18/prevent-power-saving-mode-of-external-hard-drives/), it took a while to spin up the drive again and "delete backup" command timed out before the program could access .tib files.
