Intel nic no detection I219LM GbE LOM
Acronis TI 2016 does not detect Intel NIC - also in the last build 6571!
Product HP EliteDesk 800 G2
NIC intel I219LM GbE LOM (This nic is in all product of this series)
This model is on the market from december 2015!
Pc Works normaly in Windows envirement Network works fine.
ATI 2016 does not support this nic before
Downoaded last iso builded ATI 2016 6571 image (still no support)
Checked with:
45331: Acronis Bootable Media: Troubleshooting NIC Detection
Acronis does not detect the nic!
Tested with Linux Mint 17.3 it detects the NIC and works OK.
You have not added the driver for 6 month??
I use your products for many years, but this is realy dissapointing for me.
Provide me with a network working solution - and include new Intel NIC in the first new Build.
For me the only workaround is to work with:
- external USB harddrive
- install old NIC with PCIe x1
Must I work as 10 years ago in the NAS Cloud Era?
Thank you for your fast and reliable support and a quick solution.

In the meantime, building WinPE using the Windows 10 AdK should fill the gap. Download the ADK from Microsoft (see link at the bottom of this post) and install (it's big so download may take some time). Once installed, use the media builder and switch to WinPE and it will do the rest.
I have also picked up some cheap USB 3.0 to gig-e adapters from Amazon (roughly $15) and those are my trusty go to for new systems that don't have driver support with the NIC right off the bat, but if you don't want to spend the money, WinPE is fairly easy to build and will work just fine too.

Bobbo Thanks for your reply.
You have offered me a solution, too.
I have to solve a problem quick. So I have used a Gigabit NIC realtek chipset which goes in a PCIEx1.
I could do it in Win PE way - but why?
I pay for a product and expect that it covers all the NIC from Main (intel, Realtek ..) brands which is used in all Middle class PCs equipement from mainstream builders like: HP, Dell and Lenovo to name the main brands.
I understood tha Acronis developer team need time to integrate the drivers.
I wait from december 2015. Meantime there were ATI updates.
But no solution for new Intel NICs which work normaly in Linux, this has pointed as a problem in ATI developer team prioritys focus.
We are talking about NIC's - without working drivers - there is no working ATI product and no backups of equipement data.
I will send the suggested report.
Please ATI developers change your focus to drivers and speed up the integration of new drivers.

Hi Marko,
I understand the frustration, but can't give you a good answer as to why the drivers are not working (at least in your case). I don't have a system to test that particular NIC with. Most other backup products use WinPE by default. Acronis uses Linux, but offers both. It only takes the one time to download the Windows ADK and then you can build WinPE just as easy as the Linux version from that point on. The advantage of WinPE (especially when building it with Win10ADK which can be used on Win7 or newer), is the default drivers in Windows 10 have very good compatibility out of the box. WinPE is also user customizable (although not super friendly, it's not too bad either and if the default winpe doesn't support your NIC, which I beleive it will, we can help you with the driver injection if you need it).
Just curious, but are you booting your default linux media in UEFI or Legacy mode? I have found that sometimes, if you are booting legacy mode, but your system is designed for UEFI, booting in UEFI mode will provide better driver support in Linux as well. If you're not sure how your media is booting...
it is UEFI if it is a black screen with DOS like white letters for the menu. It is legacy if it is a graphical menu with a blue background. You can try your system boot override or one time boot menu to see if you have USB boot options for legacy and UEFI and then try one and then the other. If using a DVD or CD, try creating a USB as some systems that support UEFI still seem to only boot legacy with discs (bios settings or limitations).
I'd love to test a system with this NIC, but don't have one avaialble to me at this time.

Bobbo Thank you for your support.
I'm not sure now but as I remember in decembver 2015 the nic is not dicovered on Intel product I217LM GbE LOM (cant test it again) and I219LM GbE LOM.
As I understood your answer I can not expect in a short time to get drivers inside ATI 2016 mybe also Ati 2017 linux boot system.
Your suggestion is to buy a product and then work on it (WinPE) in the way to use it on new PC systems with latest Intel NIC products.
This is bypass for 6 months already!
I have started with ATI 2009 product and folow it to todays ATI 2016 edition.
I work with Business PC's from brands: HP, Lenovo and Dell.
I normaly use the native bootable media, or the prepared usb stick.
In all this years I have relied on a product working Out of the box - I buy and I use it.
As a satisfied customer I have suggested it to clients and partners.
To help others I will explain the procedure:
Preparation:
Download of the native bootable media ATI 2016 bulid 6571
Burned the iso image to a CD media.
Test the media.
Usage report:
Used on equipement
HP Elite 800 G2 Desktop PC:
model: P1G41EA
Boot method: UEFI
Hard drive: sata 3 AHCI mode
1. Insert the media in the DVD-RW ROM
2. On a HP PC Press ecape to get the boot options
3. Select Boot from DVD-RW ROM in UEFI mode
4. Acronis gives me options 1,2,3
5. I select pressing keyboard number 1. (1. Acronis True Image 64 bit)
6. Acronis loads OK
7. Acronis Starts up and is ready.
8. I go under Network options (The section is empty because there is no network card detected)
9. I can plug in a usb disk - the only option to use the product.
Turend off the PC.
Same PC but I have to add equipement - inserted gigabit NIC realtek PCIex1
Repeat the usage report procedure.
The steps for 1 to 7 are equal.
8. I go under Network options - i see the NIC and acquired network DHCP address.
9. I can browse the network find and access the restoration files.
10.The resoration process works.
Hope this caryfy enough to you!
I've tried to feedback to you as you suggested (from bootable media ATI 2016 bulid 6571):
"app Feedback tool found in the Help section of the product" but i find only help for the product for reading purposes no feedback tool.
I can make only a report which content was not an advantage for me.
I can send it to you if it help.
I normaly do not use WinPE builder couse the product simply works out fo the Box.
The ATI product work without problems of the box either as downloaded bootable media or the build USB stick media for years.
I have used it for Network preinstall or install backups on a lot of different systems ober the past years without problems.

The Linux drivers have received much better support as of build 6559 and later, but am not sure if they address this particular mic as I don't have it to test. What version of Acronis was your rescue media built with?
You have a working solution (workaround) with your older pcie nic so no hardware needed. I only recommend keeping a dingle on hand so that as new hardware comes out, you'll always still be able to fall back on the dongle if drivers are not available yet.
WinPE is a free and secondary option and is easy to run after you've downloaded the Windows 10 adk from Microsoft and installed it. For the most part, it has enough generic drivers already, but is also not going to cover every piece of hardware. As an example, I have a killer 2200 nic and neither WinPE or widows 10 have drivers built in so I have to manually install them. However the default Acronis bootable media picks it up just fine.
If your media is 6559 or later and the nic is not being detected, please submit feedback through the app. In the meantime, WinPE is the option to use, or stick with your secondary nic since you have it available already.

Hello Marko,
I recommend you submitting a support ticket at http://www.acronis.com/support/contact-us.html. If you will be paying "Pay Per Incident" support fee and investigation will confirm that the problem has been caused by an issue in the product, the fee will be refunded.
If default WinPE-based media will not detect the network card, custom WinPE with drivers will definitiely do the job. We would be happy to help you creating that media.
Acronis True Image is targeted mostly at home PC users. If you take images of workstations, consider using "Acronis Backup" product: http://www.acronis.com/en-eu/business/backup/workstation/. It may have newer Linux kernel in bootable media and therefore, have wider hardware support.
Regards,
Slava
