Reset Password?

Thread needs solution

I'm trying to configure our PXE server and other such items... When I try to connect to the server with the manager console it prompts for a user name and password, which I don't have. The guy that set it up left a year ago and didn't give us any of the info. The login seems to suggest that I can use my domain username, etc but that is not the case. How can I "reset" this login info or retrieve the current info?

Hello Cody,

Welcome to our forum and thank you for your post. I will definitely help you with this issue.

It is actually pretty straight forward to sort this out. In order to "reset" the password, please go to the machine where you have Acronis Snap Deploy 3 Management console installed, from which the Acronis PXE Server was initially configured. After launching the console, in the main menu select - Configure Acronis Pxe Server, then - in the top left corner click on - Configure PXE Server and go through the wizard. In one of the steps, you will be prompted to specify a password, leave the field blank if you do not need a password or enter a new one. Complete the wizard and everything will be fixed.

If there is anything else I can do, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hi Anton,

When I click on "Configure Acronis PXE Server" it comes up with a Connect To prompt. The PXE server is that local machine. So I select the computer name from the list and click connect. Then it asks for a username and password to connect to that machine. It's an acronis login screen, not windows or domain related.... That's where I can't get beyond. Perhaps I'm asking the wrong question.

Hello Cody,

Thank you for the clarification.

The pop-up asking for credentials is asking for the ones needed to connect to the specific machine. You will need to provide the credentials that were used when the software was installed.

If you are sure that you do not remember them, you will need to re-install the software. If you are sure, that you are providing the correct credentials, you can try this solution, sometimes an incorrect SSL certificate causes this.

I would really appreciate if you can get back to me in case you have additional questions.

Thank you.
