Acronis 2017 NG New Generation Problems, complaints
ATI 2017 NG seems to be taking over my computer making everything much slower as if 2 AV programs are conflicting and slowing things to a crawl, does trusting MBAM, MBAE, MBARW help this issue. I was going to trust Norton but finding the applications to trust is like hunting a needle in a haystack. Is there a way to trust Norton and ..how do I do this... is it even necessay to do so. Is there a list of TRUSTED programs which is already programmed into the Acronis ransomware protection module????

Kurt, you can configure the list of trusted\blocked apps under Settings -> Acronis Active Protection -> Manage permission list
Tom, here you'll find a manual for Acronis ASign. This feature is available for Cloud backups only, attached a screenshot showing the option.

With all the new features this doesn't play well with Mcaffe Total protection CPU usage is at 40%. When true image 2017 was removed CPU usage is down to 2%.
I hope a patch or work around comes out soon because I can not use the program in its current state.

I suggest submitting an in-App feedback. Make sure that you click on the oprion to upload system report.

I have been having issues when I try to print pdf files. I open the file in PDF view, and the it is slugish or unresponsive, and crashes if I try to print it. I have this happen with Acrobat Reader DC (build 2015.023.20053) and Lightening PDF Professional 9.0.0. However, PDF Viewer Plus 7.2 eems to be working correctly. If I turn of protection things work as expected. Adding Acrobat Reader DC to the permitted applications list did not help - did help with other applications that were misbehaving when protection activated.

Updating Acrobat Reader DC to build 20056 helped a bit - I can now print. But it is painfully slow. This problem is only on my Intel systems (both have identiacla main boards but different CPUs), my AMD systems are working as normal.

Ian, look for chipset and/or bios revisions for your board. Print drivers for your printer(s) should also be investigated. All my printers are network attached and I notice no issues such as you.

The main boards are identical, ASRock Z77 Extreme 6, running the same bios (most recent one available). Both are rather ancinet systems. Everything is working perfectly on my FM2A88X Exteme4+ system. All systems are using the latest print drivers. Am going to install on another AMD system, a GA-F2A88XM-HD3P and see what happens.
Update: the one that is haveing the most issues has bios version P2.80 (07/01/2013) and the one with fewer problems has a beta firmware P.280E (04/07/2015). See if P280E makes a difference.

I would check for a chipset driver update on the ASROCK site just to make certain your as up to date as you say you are. I missed small stuff like that before and pulled hair for awhile myself!

Things are really getting weird, I cannot find my Synology DS414 - it does not appar either under NAS or Network. It is not being found by Windows either (although the Plex Media Server that is running on it is found by Windows). I can access the NAS controlpanel, so not sure what the problem is.
Update: if I type "\\DISKSTATION\" into destination, I get promted for username and password, and then the NAS appears under "Network".

No issues with authentication. Just put in the user name and password and everything worked as expected.

Hello all,
Isuue with windows 10 file history on the same external drive as ATI 2017 NG backup. History files do not work when acronis protection is on.
And other thing external drive is disconnect and sleeping more time than before. Always read message " your history drive is disconnect for a long times and ...."

jnq, this is the first report I have seen of this behaviour. I suggest that you report the issue via inApp feedback. It would be a good idea if you also attached a system report (there a check box at the bottom of the feedback dialouge box for system report to be uploaded). You access feedback by clicking on the ? on the bottom left of the Acronis dialouge box, and select "send feedback". Alternatively, you could contact support via chat to work through the issue (you will need to log into you Acronis account then select, click on the ? on top right hand corner, then click on 'support' on right hand side of the page, then select the nature of the issue, then the nature of your licence, and then the prodcut (ATI 2017). Wow, it is a complex process!
Please keep us advised of you progress in resolving this problem.

for me it seems to be the same problem,
since I have installed 2017 NG my Win10 seems to be slower and I had 2 BlueScreens in the last past days (since NG is installed)
(IRQ less...) (I neved had any BlueScreens before)
I think the randsom protection is not 100% compatible with other AVs... (Eset Smart Sectuiry 10)
I am working a lot with "DISM" in Win10 and everything takes the double of time sind NG is installed
I am going to downgrade Acronis
edit: confirmed
uninstalled 2017-NG
reinstalled 2017 (non-NG) and everything is back to normal

Before downgrading use the in-app feedback to send details of the issue toAcronis. Attach system report.
you do not need to downgrade - just turn off malware protection.
have you tried a repair insattation of ATI 2017 - doing so can fix all sorts of problems

MVP updated scripts are available to help disable NG services as well. These can be run agains 2017 NG back to 2015. Customize them to your liking as there are options to stop/start them per run and/or set the startup type to either automatic or disabled. I like the bug fixes of 2017NG so far, but personally don't need the ransomware protection so I have disabled it in the application, set the services to stopped and disabled. I'd recommend users leave them enabled for better protection, but for those who want the choice/option, hopefully these may help some of you.

After I installed 2017 when every I want to print it takes about 40 to 50 seconds to get the print out to the printer. I turned off the feature to to check for ranson ware and it takes 3 seconds to get print to printer. Also overal it slowed my computer down.

Frederick, I have the same problem on 2 of 4 computers. It may help resolve the issue if you provide in Application Feedback making sure that you have slected append system report (send is the defualt setting). Also, a description of the system you are seeing it on; Operating System, and model name/number. If it is a self-brew system (like the ones I am having problems with), the model on the motherboard and bios build number would also help.

Update on the issues I am having. The developers (located in Moscow) are trying to arrange I time to do a remote session on my PC to further investigate the issues. The time difference between Moscow (+3) and Melbourne (+10) is complicating matters. I will report progress.

Adding a program to the Manage Permission List apparently does not really do anything. I am trying to use Robocopy to copy my backups to an external drive, but Active Protection keeps blocking the program from even copying the files. I have added the Robocopy application to my manage permission list and labeled it as Trusted, but every time my backup copy program runs (it is on a scheduled task), it is blocked and says access is denied.
I have a second computer with Acronis Drive Monitor and have also added it to the Trusted list, but Active Protection continues to show me pop-ups saying it has blocked access by that program also.
The documentation says that Active Protection will ask the USER what to do about a blocked program, giving you the option to allow the access, but this is not happening. The programs are just being blocked and pop-up messages tell me about it after the fact and the only thing I can do is click OK.
Has anyone else been able to get a program added to the permission list to be allowed access to the files?

I use TerraCopy Pro and I can copy folders containing *.tib files without any problems. I would not expect to be able to do so if the backup task was running. The one I tested on does not have a run schedule which may be a critical difference.
The copy speed is very slow so I may need to add TerraCopy to the exceptions list.

My first post here so as to assure some that NG does NOT cause slowdown, and/or other issues for everyone.
>Only slowdown is several seconds @ boot up (confirmed w/BootRacer)
>No issues w/print: .PDF or otherwise
>No problems w/ESET TS at all
>No problems w/exceptions (my own file manager as an example of one)
>Active Protection is easily turned off when needed
