Just installed Acronis True Image 2017 New Generation - cannot access startup screen

Thread needs solution

OK.  i just updated 2017 to the "new gerenation build.  It's running in the background, as is the "active protection."  I receive some pop-up notifications that "active protection" has blocked some activity.  In an attempt to see wat was going on and to check the settings, or manage permission list, or anything else, after right clicking on the icon for Acronis Active Protection and clicking on any options, including "Open Acronis True Image" nothing happens. 

Acronis is running in the background, but is not showing up as an active App.  What's going on and how do I access the Acronis True Image program and/or how do I return to the previous version of 2017.

I've attached a screen grab of  parts of Task Manager (running Windows 10 Pro). 

This is trulu annoying and I'd like some help.  Any help would be greatly appreciated

No suggestion other than contacting Acronis support - a chat sesson will hopefully sort it out.

Have you tried doing a repair installation - run the installation program as administrator and select repair.

I have not had this issue in my limited testing.

I am experiencing exactly the same problem.

I have tried doing a repair but the problem persists.

 

Riddlespoon, if a repair has not helped here, then do a clean install as follows:

Uninstall ATIH 2017 New Gen normally via the Control Panel.

Download the Acronis Cleanup tool (link below in my signature) and run this as Administrator.  Restart to complete the cleanup actions.

Download and install ATIH 2017 New Gen again, run as Administrator to ensure you have the correct privileges when installing.
