How long do you recommend you keep backups before deleting?

Thread needs solution

I am wondering:

How long do you generally recommend you keep backups before deleting?

And, is there a way to easily automate this process?

Thanks.

Retention time really depends upon how much your data changes and where stored. Often times, if you have personal files and make changes, you may have need for a much prior version so it really depends upon your needs. Many of us practice backup rotation and keep backups stored on multiple storage drives.

This could easily be achieved using Chain2Gen (C2G) which is a helper program for TrueImageHome (TIH). C2G was written by forum contributor MVP Oracledba

TrueImage runs the tasks which does the scheduling and creates the backups, whereas, C2G provides the controls on when the full backup should be created. or how many to be retained. C2G offers many choices.

If running TrueImageHome 2010 build 7046,:
The scheduler was updated in June 2010 and is not part of the normal 2010 version install. I suggest that you update your system with the newest scheduler.

update scheduler version 416 -June6
