Installation woes - Install doesn't complete, now I can't get rid of it!
Help!
I've just tried to install ATIH 2017 (purchased upgrade from ATIH 2106) on two, pretty standard Win 10 (1607) computers - both installations failed to compete. I'm now left with the following:
1. No desktop icon, no entry in the Start panel
2. ATI shows up in the Control panel / Programmes & Features (dated today), but trying to uninstall from here flags an error ("An error occurred while trying to uninstall Acronis True Image. It may already have been uninstalled").
3. If I run TrueImageLauncher exe I get "Acronis True Image 2017 is not installed"
4. If I run TrueImage.exe I get the updated ATI 2017 version screen, with my previous backups all correctly listed. I also managed to activate the products. However, I cannot restore a previous image ("Failed to check last versions of the backup").
5. Because the installation failed, I don't have a backup/restore disk for ATI 2017 yet.
6. Absolutely none of the various error messages I get when trying operations shows up in the Acronis errorcode web pages.
7. Lastly, the latest entry in My Account is for ATI 2104 plus a correctly timed tiral of Acronis Cloud. However, I also purchased ATI 2105 (3 computers), upgraded this to ATI 2016, then to ATI 2017. Since there are no entries for these products in my account, in spite of each having been activated, I can't even download replacement installation files.
So I'm now left with an inoperative programme that I can't uninstall and I can't use. Can anybody suggest how I can get rid of it, please (preferably without losing my list of previous backups plus the scheduled backup task details)?
I've owned ATI products for years, and often had spurious installation problems in the past, but since version 2014 things have been fine. Looks like the bad times are back again.

Many thanks for your help, Steve - problem now resolved. I found the downloaded 8041 installer and ran the repair option, which seems to have sorted the problem on both machines, I'd tried to do this before with the "original" ATI 2017 update installer, but all this understandably told me was that I had the latest version installed. Doesn't explain why both installations failed in the first place, though. Guess I'll never know.
Incidentally, I only mentioned the Acronis account anomaly to highlight the Catch 22 situation - if your product isn't listed, you can't access the appropriate installer file! Moral of the story - make sure your latest product is properly reflected in your account.
Once again, thanks for your prompt intervention.

Thanks for the feedback, glad that the repair install was able to resolve the upgrade issue.
