I can't seem to get automated backup tasks to run consistently.

Thread needs solution

I have purchased 3 copys for 3 customers Two on Vista and one on XP.

I can't seem to get automated backup tasks to run consistently.

My settings are pretty simple:

whole disk backup
run daily
incrementel
new full backup every 7 days

I am really frustrated, after hours of trying to get the tasks to run the end result was I was not able to charge a setup fee due to it not fully working.

Can someone pleaseee help me here.

There was an updated scheduler released in June and it is not part of the 2010-TI Home 7046 download. I do not know whether that will solve your issue or not. When the edit of a task is needed, usually better results will be obtained if an entirely new task is created and avoid the edit pitfalls.

I would download and install the scheduler update.

The scheduler was updated in June 2010 and is not part of the normal 2010 version install. I suggest that you update your system with the newest 416 scheduler.

Your goal could easily be achieved using Chain2Gen (C2G) which is a helper program for TrueImageHome (TIH). C2G was written by forum contributor MVP Oracledba

TrueImage runs the tasks which does the scheduling and creates the backups, whereas, C2G provides the controls on when the full backup should be created. or how many to be retained. C2G offers many choices.

Sorry, I did not know this even posted. ( I kept getting an error msg every time I submitted the thread. Weird.....)

The Scheduler is not included on the full disk retail versions?

The most recent release of 2010-7046 was prior to the latest release of the scheduler. Certainly, the retail release has a scheduler but not the one with the latest fixex as listed in my post above.

But now the ball games starts all over. The 2011 version has just been released and everything is changed. A whole new GUI and different steps. Reading the new user manual is a must! Your problem appears to be fixed in 2011. Download the trial and see what you think of it.

Thanks GroverH , can you link me to the info about this problem being fixed in the 2011 version?

I cannot provide such assurance. Perhaps the information will be posted about the changes/fixes. The 2011 uses a newer scheduler and I have not tested the just released 2011 version.
