ATI 2018 does no backup

Thread needs solution

My ATI isn't doing backups anymore neither on schedule nor manual. If the scheduled time arrives or if I hit backup now it just seems to be busy a few seconds and after that it just says "Backup is valid". Of course no backup is created. There is no error message of any kind. I tried to change various settings but only a deinstallation, reboot and new installation seem to fix the problem so far. After that it works fine for some weeks but the problem shows up again. And I am getting tired of reinstalling every 2 months.

Any idea what to do?

Hein, welcome to these User Forums.

Please can you confirm what version of Windows OS you are using here?  If it is Windows 10, what build version?

Also, what build version of ATI 2018 do you have?  (See the Account page in the ATI GUI).

Please download the MVP Log Viewer Tool from the Community Tools link in my signature and check for any error messages shown in the task logs?

I am not aware of any specific issue with ATI 2018 that would require a regular reinstall of the application.

Do you have Acronis anti-malware active? If not some malware or badly behaving anti-virus program may be deleting or quarantining a critical Acronis file.

In case this happens again, may I suggest activating global email notifications which will inform you of successful and/or failed backups. You do this by opening Acronis, selecting settings and clicking on email notifications, which takes you to www interface where you can set criteria and specify multiple email addresses.
