Can not exclude a directory in new Acronis Online Backup

Thread needs solution

Hello,

Because it took months to get online backup working, and I could not get online backup working for three months, the <edited: violation of Forum TOU> at Acronis gave me a free upgrade to the new 2011 version of Acronis Online Backup for free. This supposedly fixed my issue of the online backup crashing without a logfile. However, now when I try to perform a backup, I am unable to exclude my B:\downloads directory. Yesterday it worked, now it won't. I have tried excluding specific items as B:\downloads\*.*, and B:\downloads\* and B:\downloads and nothing works. It isn't paying attention to my exclusions at all. Does anyone know how to get the file exclusion tool to work on entire directories? Thanks

Hi Justin, as far as I know none of the exclusion examples you gave would work. Try B:\downloads\

Well, this isn't working either. The great software at Acronis isn't working again, wow, what a surprise. What a edited: violation of Forum TOU product this is. Don't they have QA that tests these things? I work in software and to have something as basic as excluding a directory not work is unacceptable. Do they just release code and not give a edited: violation of Forum TOU if it works or not? For god sakes, someone figure out why directories can't be excluded in the new online backup and fix it immediately!

I have this issue too. The option is greyed out and you cannot exclude directories. Nice 1 Acronis. This was broken in 2010, and again you have broken it in 2011. Im glad im only using the trial. Norton 15 looks pretty good...... the interface doesn't look edited: violation of Forum TOU and feel awkward to use on that either. Seriously do any of your products actually work properly? Advanced Server doesn't even install on win2k8, without allot of manual buggering about, extracting files and disabling UAC. You guys need to fix your edited: violation of Forum TOU. Its disgraceful, your products are of such poor quality.
