Acronis crashes when upgrading
Beware if you want to upgrade this product, every time I try it I spend countless hours fixing a crashed system. This is just since B&R came out. Had no issues like this with the earlier products, but Acronis forces you to update by stopping support on older products.
I had B&R 11639 running fine. Tried to update to 12457 and it crashed, so I uninstalled the version 11639 and now this is all I get when I try to install the product
The older version of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Agent cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group.
Well, I am contacting you. Please help.
I already tried the cleanup utility, removed ALL references to Acronis in my files and the registry. cleaned the temp files, cleaned the registry. Got 5 hours into this and I am not a happy camper. Tried every tool and method described in the other forum posts.
now what can I do? Using Win7 64 bit
Please help.

Thank you for finding time to report about the issue and contact us via Forum. I sincerely regret that you've faced this issue, and understand how inconvenient the problem can be.
I'm glad to know that the issue finally got fixed. I just wanted to add, that it's highly possible that the issue is related to the new style of updating the product: in order for the MSI file to perform an update, the MSI file has to be launched with the re-install parameter.
