TrueImageHomeService blocks keyboard and mouse input
Several times a day, TrueImageHomeService.exe takes over the computer, blocking keyboard and mouse input for a minute or more. Task Manager shows the application using 25% of the CPU. All backup tasks are set to run overnight and when the user is idle. How can I configure the software to stop grabbing the CPU when I'm using the computer? I'm using Acronis TrueImage 2009 with WinXP.

Mid September 2010 I upgraded from TI 2010 to 2011 (integrade into Windows). At the same day I did the monthly MS Updates. Since that time I have 2-3 times daily suddenly increased CPU Time (from 1-2% slowly up to 40%), Storage increases from ususally 35% to 70% till W-7 64 Bit writes a warning of dangerous high storage comsumtion. This happens within 1-2 minutes. The mouse is locked and no application can be canceled. Running Task manager (before it happen) shows the last current application like ieexplore or other started standard applications. When the cpu and storage resources going up, the windows task manager stops working and no updates of the resources happen anymore.
How to get rid of the blocked system?
Hit Ctrl-Alt-Del releases the full system again and everything runs as before. I even have not to select any of the items of the menu.
Can't find out what applications locks the system and I even don't understand why hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del releases the system to normal without any input...
I use TI to backup my system once a day automatically at 12:05 (noon) and it works ok.

Jan (of USB and Serial fame? ) and Johann,
Check in task manager and see if one of the many srvchost entries is going beserk.
To find out what is causing it, you'd need to download and run ProcMonitor from Microsft SysInternals webpage.
