How do I reinstall TIB 2010? It is asking for TWO serials?!!?!
I recently upgraded to WIN 7 (clean install). I went to reinstall TIB 2010 and it asks me to paste my 64 digit serial. I do that then it tells me that I am upgrading and that I need to enter a second serial as well. I am not upgrading, I am reinstalling....WTH!?!?
The consumer in this cartoon is what I feel like right now >:(

Hi Yana!
Same in my case, with the difference:
I have give in the license key of the previous version 2009 correct in the supplement field. After about 10 seconds the system tells me, that the installation is interrupted and I have to try again ...
Then I have scanned the registry for the term ACRONIS and I have deleated all items with that terminus. SAgain no chance to install it from scratch, also not with the backup CD from the retailer in Germany. The installation procedure from that CD starts with the download of the version 2010 and after starting that (older) version the installer tell me to update for a newer version and asks me for the license key. After put in the key again brake the installation. I have to say, that the installation key was sending to me from the retailer in Germany by email. The date of purcvhase was dated 2009/09/21.
Please tell me, what I have to do for installing my ATIH 2010. I now the 2011 is available, but I will not upgrade, if the upgrade is again such boring.

Harry,
Two things to try.
1. Make sure your system temp folder is empty.
If you are using XP it lives at c:\my documents and settings\your_user_name\local settings\temp
If using Vista or W7 you will find it at c:\users\your_user_name\AppData\local\temp
You may not be able to delete the complete contents as some of the files in this folder will be locked.
View hidden files and folders as well as system files needs to be enabled.
2. If that doesn't work then you should extract the 2010 installer file and log the installer actions.
Start the TI 2010 installer as normal. When you get the very first screen (the one that allows you to install, download the manual or check for updates) right click on the Install option and select extract installer.
Download the attached file and place it in the same folder as the extracted MSI file. Remove the _.txt from the file name. Double click on the bat file, the install may succeed or may still fail. However you will now have a log file which should be around 1.8MB in size. Search through it and remove any serial numbers or email addresses that might be in there and then attach it here. Hopefully it will contain the answer to your problem.

I'm assuming Big Rigzs, that you have an upgrade version of TI 20xx?
If that is the case then yes, you will need the previous versions serial number as well as the new one.
If this is a full version, then a different attack is required.

Big Rigsz,
If you registered your software, you can get retrieve your serials from you Acronis registration page.

I am having a problem similar to that discussed above. After reading the comments made by Colin, I tried both of the solutions he proposed. I got rid of most (but not all) of the files in the folder he described, but I was still asked to provide my "new" as well as my "old" serial number.
I then tried to follow the instructions for the second proposal, and while I was able to extract the file, I did not see the ".txt" extension on the new file that was created. When I attempted to execute the "new file," the same thing happened.
Someone made mention of the fact that their request for technical assistance had gone unanswered. I'm experiencing about the same thing.
I went to the web site a day or so ago and filled out the on-line form there advising Acronis of my problem (giving name, serial number, telephone number and e-mail address). No response or acknowledgment was received.
This morning, I went back and submitted a second request for help. This was met by a "canned" message that acknowledged receipt of my request, asked that I not submit any additional requests for help, but essentially gave no indication whatsoever as to when I would be hearing from someone at Acronis with respect to this problem.
As it seems that my experience is not a "new" one--and that some two months (at least) have passed since the time that the first post in this thread was made, one would think that a professionally-operated company would have taken steps to properly lay out what should be done when the problem is encountered, and to prominently display the solution at this site.
Acronis harps and harps about the need for one to back up their data--but when it comes to a problem with their product, they seem to all of a sudden no longer be around. My time and efforts, apparently, are not regarded very highly by those in the employ of Acronis.

I am not sure this is relevant but Ti offers two types of purchases.
A full standalone version and includes one serial.
An upgrade of the current version but requires the user to have owned a prior version and that serial number must be entered into the install as well.
The new TI cleanup tool might be helpful. You can find a link inside the lower right corner of my signature below. This cleanup tool is applcable to to old verson 11 and newer versions.
