Backup failed / may be blocked by another application

Thread needs solution

Scenario:

3 Pcs (Windows 7, Acronis 2018) storing their backups in individual shares on a nas-station. Everything works.

1 PC has a second Backup job that fails. That Backupjob is supposed to copy those shares on the nas-station to a lokal USB-Drive. This Backupjob is run manually. It fails everytime "Failed to back up file or folder "NAS SHARE". It may be blocked by another application.

Copying those backups manually with windows explorer from the nas-station to the local usb-drive works without problems.

Maybe its some settings? Is there another way to just "clone" those nas-shares to the usb-drive?

Thanks for your time and help.

Simon, welcome to these public User Forums.

Please download the MVP Log Viewer tool (link below) and use this to check the log messages for the problem backup task, to see if these give more information on what is being blocked etc.

More information on exactly what you are doing would also be helpful, i.e. where is the USB drive connected to, is this to your PC or to the NAS, what type of files are you trying to backup from the NAS shares?

If you are trying to backup other .TIB files then please be aware that these are normally excluded by default in the task settings, and also Acronis Active Protection may also be getting involved here, as it tries to 'block' what it may consider to be a malware action for the .TIB files!
You could try the task with AAP turned off temporarily to see if the same error is given?

You may also want to consider using such as Robocopy or other sync utilities to copy .TIB files to other locations, but again, you need to consider that AAP can get involved in blocking these actions unless turned off.
