What are the advantages of Custom WinPE-based Media Builder over Acronis Media Builder?

Thread needs solution

Chris, the key advantages of the MVP Custom ATIPE Builder version of rescue media is the extra features that are included with this tool.

This includes a File Manager, Web Browser, Image capture & PDF viewer tool along with the ability to include multiple different Acronis products in a single bootable USB stick.

Personally, I have only been using the MVP rescue media on both USB sticks and in a FAT32 2GB partition of my external HDD drive (aka as a survival kit).

Thanks, Steve.

I decided to put the MVP PE Builder on a DVD.

  • I downloaded the .zip file, extracted the files
  • I ran the .exe. The window showed.
  • I chose 2 (build from WinRE).
  • It got down to System scan and preparation in progress
  • After some time (less than 1 minute) < was not expected at this time showed.
  • The window then closed.

I tried again, with the same result.

What now?

BTW The title of the window indicated v. 18.1 while the download shows 18.2

I am running Win 7 SP1.

The WinRE option isn't working for Windows 7 computers. The next release will have the WinRE option working for Windows 7. For now you need to install a Windows 10 ADK and WinPE add-on. Then build with the Build from ADK option.

Steve,

I can wait. Would you be willing to email me when the next release is ready?

Chris, it was Paul (Mustang) who posted about the next release but will try to remember to drop you an email or PM when this is released via the forums / Google Drive.
