Installation error message "The Installation was interrupted before ATI could be installed"

Thread needs solution

After purchasing and downloading Acronis True Image, the initial install seemed to complete, but would never run (execute). I uninstalled the program, downloaded the most current version, and the install attempt fails with the message "The installation was interrupted before Acronis True Image Home 2011 could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again". Repeated attempts to restart the installer continually result in the same error message, and I don't have a working version of True Image on my system.

Hello Vorris,

Thank you for your post and I would like to welcome you to our forum. I will definitely help you with this.

In order to resolve this installation issue, I would really appreciate if you can send me a private message with an AcronisInfo report and an .msi log so that I can analyze them.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

I d/l the 30 day trial version. It did not appear to run the b/u so I uninstalled it, re started the install from the saved .exe file.
It runs for a while but then stops with msg "Install interrupted before ATIH2011 could be installed.
I tried the re-intall 3 times...same msg occurs.
I am shying away from purchasing Acronis despite several positive reviews. If I can't get it running with the trial version, I'm
concerned that the purchased version will be a problem too.
Any advice & help is appreciated.

Steve G.

Wait to hear back form Anton, but might a ati installer issue or an windows installer issue and using the Windows installer cleanup utility and the the ATI cleanup utility (http://kb.acronis.com/content/14871), then reinstalling might get you going.

Also, using msconfig before unisntalling and installing is genreally a good idea to ensure prog conflicts doen't muck up the installation.

you can find out how to use msconfig here

Hello Steven and Scott,

Thank you for your messages and I really appreciate your help Scott.

Steven, I will resolve this issue for you.

Most likely the installation rolls back now because several Acronis .ddl files could not be replaced. Please use this article for a solution.

If it does not help, kindly send me these logs.

Once you install the program please send me this report so that I can assist you with the backup issue.

In case you have additional questions, please let me know.

Thank you.
