TI Home 2010 best software for this type of backup?

Thread needs solution

Hi all.

I currently use TI Home 2010 very simply. I make a full image of my system drive (using the install CD) about every month. This works very well for me.

However, I have a data drive which I would like to back up to an external USB incrementally. I'd like to take a backup of the whole drive, then incrementally backup on a regular basis. When I delete folders / files from the source disk I'd like them not to be deleted from the backup disk. I'd like to be able to get access to individual folders and files on the backup disk as necessary.

Is this all possible with TI home 2010?

Many thanks

Matthew

Matthew,

You can do that with TI 2010. Create a backup image of the data drive. You can then create Incrementals as needed. To recover files, you can Mount or Explore the backups.

Be aware that deleted folders and files won't be in the "new" backup. They will still be in the previous backups (before they were deleted). For example, if you create a Full backup that includes the "Vacation Photos" folder and then you delete that folder and create an Incremental backup, the Incremental won't contain that folder (it will still be in the Full image).
