Configuration to cleanup backup-files (after new backup) fails all the time
Hello,
we are using TI 2018 to do full system-backups to RDX drives (this is a external USB drive, at least to the computer). RDX drives (USB disks) get exchanged every day.
I'm afraid Acronis is looking for the successfully created .tibx file fom the day before, in order to start the new backup. This way the backup job fails all the time. It is a mess, because I believe i configured it the same way we create our backup jobs in Acronis Backup 11.7 (and this works like a charm):
1. Create only full backups
2. Use the same Drive letter
3. repeat weekly same time
4. delete versions older than 1 day
Screenshot says translated to english:
"Failed because of error (great translation into german by the way)
The backup can not be started. Connect the external Drive, which holds the files of this backup."
Why is that? I want acronis to write a new full backup and then kill every backup that is olde then 1 day (even if the Disk from 5 days ago is included)
Can anyone give advice?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Hey there Steve, thanks a lot for your hint. I was afraid of something like this, but i recall there was a issue like this some time ago where there was a diffference in clean up backup jobs executing DAILY or WEEKLY.
But following your hint i did the following. I did set up the external RDX drive as network shared folder now. now the destination of the True Image backup job is (its own) a smb share which is a RDX drive at the end of the day.
That way the other machines on LAN using True Image are already writing their full backups to the RDX over network - and doing fine in cleaning up their backups.
I will monitor this closely but i can imagine TI will have endless peace now :)
Thanks for your input.
Cheers pfc
