Saving a backup job

Thread solved

How can I save / store the details of a backup job (source, destination, type of backup etc) so that I can just tell ATI to select that backup job and not have to enter the details every time I want to run it?

I/ve been through the documentation and maybe I missed it but I can't see how to do it.

Thanks in advance

Ed

Ed, if you are configuring your backup task in the ATI GUI application, running in Windows, then this should be automatically saved when you click on the Backup now button to run the task the first time.

If you are using the Acronis bootable Rescue Media (or installation disc) then there is no method of saving a backup task and you have to reconfigure the settings each time you use the disc.

Steve, Thank you for the speedy response. Can I trouble you to expand on this please?

I am likely to have 4/5 separate backup jobs, each of which I will start manually when I need it. Obviously I will specify each one in detail the first time I run it. Here is what I am missing: Where is the specification of the backup job saved and how can I tell ATI to run that specific job the next time I want to run it?

Ed, are you using the ATI 2018 main application running in Windows?

If so, all your backup jobs should already be shown in the GUI panel.  The image below (from ATI 2019) shows my own list of backup jobs under the 'This computer' heading on the Backup page. This should be very similar to how you will see your backup jobs in ATI 2018.

If you are still using ATI 2016, as shown in your signature information, then the list of backup jobs is still very similar.

I've got it - I should have seen that. This brain is a bit tired today.

Many thanks again for your help.

No problem, Ed, - we all have these moments that I call my 'senior moments!'.
