TIB file corrupted but can browse TIB file in Windows?

Thread needs solution

I had backed up the entire computer onto am external USB drive, I can see several TIB files in the hardrive. I can browse the content of the image files.

So I booted up the computer via the USB, when I try to recover and open the disk image an error image comes up warning me the image is corrupted.

Please can someone help? This is the first time since buying Acronis that I actually needed to restore something and it doesn't work. Very disappointing...

Hank, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry but more information is needed.

What version of ATI did you use to create the backup of your 'Entire PC'?
You mention seeing .tib files, but if this was ATI 2020, new disk backups create .tibx files now.

What are you wanting to recover / restore here?
Is it to recover the whole disk image, i.e. do a disk recovery?
Or are you just trying to restore a few files or a folder?

How does your Windows OS boot from the BIOS?
Is this a UEFI / GPT system, or is it a Legacy / MBR one?
That is important as booting from USB rescue media needs to match the same boot mode as used by your OS.

Have you tried to validate your backup task (from the Windows ATI task) to see if that reports any issues with the .tib files?

Can you also confirm you are seeing .tib files and not .tibx files?
