Does Acronis Backup Erase Destination HDD?

Thread needs solution

I have a WD My Book 8TB and I would like to backup to it for now but it has other data on it. Is there anyway I can select a destination folder? Does it erase the entire HDD if I select it as a Destination?

ikifar, welcome to these public User Forums.

Acronis will not erase your destination drive if you are making a Backup image but if you are confusing Backup with Cloning, then Cloning will wipe any destination drive as part of preparing that drive to be created as an identical duplicate of the source drive selected.

See the link in my signature about the differences between Backup and Cloning.

So where is the file saved on the destination drive?

If you are making a Backup (NOT a Clone) then it is saved in whatever folder you have selected on the destination drive, or else in the root folder of the drive.
