Backup Drive Letter Change?

Thread needs solution

First - Thanks to Steve Smith for his help the other day moving from TI 2016 to 2020 with new M.2 NVMe boot drive.

My questions is simply how do I change the drive letter of my backup drive that resides in my drive bay without messing up the backups when I need to restore down the road. I use single volume full backups and disconnect the backup drives when not in use. Drives are currently like this:

C Drive, Boot M.2 NVMe

D Drive, 2TB SSD data drive

E Drive, 4TB or 6TB HDD Backup Drives (4TB has current backups and is now stored with 6TB installed in the drive bay.)

F Drive, 2TB HDD data drive

What I should have done is make my Backup Drives drive F. and the second HDD data drive E. That way I could have just unplugged the backup F when not doing my single volume backups, leaving me with Drives C,D E in logical order. The way it is when I unplug drive E I have drives C D & F with an open letter E.

If I change the drive letters of the backups from E to F will it cause Acronis to have fits? My current backups on the HDD drives were made with those drives being Drive E.

Again, thanks for your help the other day.

Steve, ATI in recent versions has started to use the partition GUID of backup drives rather than relying on the drive letter, so you should be able to simply plug in one of your drives where it picks up a different drive letter, and ATI find the correct drive for your backup task.
