Build 6597 can't verify all backups...
When I make a backup and then verify it, "sometimes:" TIH 2011 will say " The backup is valid".
Other times it merely says " The operation completed successfully" but won't say whether or not it's valid. I have seen corruption messages, I know what they look like but why won't TIH validate a new backup?
Even if I run the validation program again on a backup that it says is "successful" I still don't get the VALID message. It just says the operation was successful!
Ignore it or is it a problem? It sure isn't a confidence builder.
Thanks in advance,
F Wolf

I have seen erratic behavior about updating these banners in the UI after validation. On win 7 x64 machine, the best I get is successful completion. On my Vista SP1 x32 machine, I am lucky and I get "backup is valid".
I would ignore this problem.
I am now running the validation after the backups and have set email notification in case of failure. From time to time, I boot with the recovery CD and validate the backups there.
Like Grover said, the truth is in the log.

Thanks for the speedy response.. but where is the log file hiding? I did a search and don't see it in the Acronis folder at all.
What is the full name of the thing? "Acronis.log" or ???
Thanks again, "My Backups folder" is on an external drive I will run Acronis and see if the log is on the other drive...

I found the logs under HELP, once I started the eSATA drive. I get the indication that "The operation has succeeded, right after the "pending operation 3 line"
So I guess all is well.
If I am mistaking what I am reading please let me know.
