No Replicate Tab

Thread needs solution

Just upgraded to ATI 2020.  Want to do the replication, but I cannot find any Replicate tab anywhere.  I looked at my desktop dashboard where all my backups are set up.  Not there.  signed on to Acronis.com to look at my online backup page.  No where can I find where to set up the Replication.  What do you think is wrong.

The replica tab should be available if your backup destination is a local disk (USB, SATA, etc). It won't show up for a backup with a destination to a network share, NAS or cloud. Is this your case?

Yes, this is my case.  Am using a NAS Drobo.

OK. No replica available in your case. Same case as mine where I backup to a NAS.

Hi, I'm wanting to replicate my Backups to Acronis Cloud. My Backup location is on a Local USB SATA Drive. Not getting a Replica tab. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Michael, welcome to these public User Forums.

What type of Backups are you trying to replicate?  Only Disks & Partitions type backups are eligible for using replication.

From the ATI 2020 User Guide:

Replication activation

Replication is not activated by default. You can activate it for any local backup of a disk, partition or entire computer that uses the local destination (to an external or internal disk) that you configured in Acronis True Image 2020 or higher. You can activate the replication in a special tab of a backup plan.

I am not seeing the Replica tab for a Acronis 2020 backup where:

  • The source is "C:\", the entire C Drive
  • The destination is "F:\Acronis Vault\", a directory on a local external USB drive that was formatted by Acronis 2019 or earlier.

So, I guess in my case the problem is that the destination was not configured by Acronis 2020?  How do I create a new 2020-formatted Archive on this external USB drive?

Here's what I tried:

  1. Cloned the settings of my successful 2020 backup.
  2. Click on the destination of the clone to change it.
  3. Acronis crashed.  No error message.

Using the Windows file explorer, I looked inside F:\Acronis Vault\ and deleted all the old files not created by Acronis 2020.  Thereafter, I could open change destination and it would not crash.

I then created a new directory on the USB drive and used the Acronis Move... command to move my backup to it.  All files were moved, but still no Replica tab.

I finally decided to create a new backup.  To my surprise, the default location was the Acronis Cloud.  The options for same were far fewer.  For example, there was no way to tell it to validate the backup after it was complete.  But, at least I now have a way to get my C Drive backed up off-site.  Would have preferred a local copy that matches via the Replica tab.

If you have previously used the option to hide the replica tab, then you can open the task menu and select the option there to 'Add replica'.
