Is the file keygen-core.exe necessary??
Hello All,
Having purchased 3 1T harddrives last year (2 SATA's and 1 portable), and having Seagate's Diskkeeper included in the install, I figured (after reading the Acronis label on this software) why not go to the real source!??!
Malwarebytes (purchased a few days ago- AVG claimed it had found some "nasty RootKits" ) found and deleted a few files which contained some Trojans. Specifically:
Malwarebytes results:
Files Infected:
c:\documents and settings\all users\documents\acronis.true.image.home.v10.0.4942.incl.keymaker-core\keygen-core.exe (Trojan.Dropper.PGen) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
c:\program files\GetRight\patch_52d.exe (Trojan.Bancos) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
c:\program files\CoolPix\ColorPix.exe (Trojan.Dropper) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
So... the question here is (1)Am I looking at some trouble here, and (2) how can should I correct this?
Many thanks in advance...

Hi Dev,
I think I know where this (acronis.true.image.home.v10.0.4942.incl.keymaker-core ) might have come from...
It's probably from Seagate's Diskkeeper that I wrote of. Seagate buys/contracts with Acronis to have the rights to an older version, so they can put it in with their Harddrives! Not an unusual occurrence.
Many thanks....
