My system--HP Pavilion Elite HPE-137c Desktop PC--Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300--Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
the problem--When I run disk backup process with System and HP(C:) checked, Acronis True Image Home 2011 with backup splitting and validation selected, things run just fine until when it is almost finished. Then a Warning window pops up which says "Please insert the media marked volume r." What the hell does that mean?
The final entries in the log says:Pending operation 144 started

-Location:
-" "
-Pending operation 3 started:Validate backup archive
-The specified file does not exist
-The systm cannot find the file specified
-Please insert the media marked volumn r. ETC.,ETC.,ETC.

Guy,

This can happen after ATI gets confused with the backups. You create for example an incremental backup, this works. When you validate, ATI needs to see all the chain from the last full. When it doesn't, it throws off some funny messages. Sometimes navigating to a previous backup file after you see this message will fix things. Sometimes this won't work.

You might need to:
- copy all the backup files that you want to keep to another location,
- delete the backup from the ATI UI,
- recreate a new task.

Separately, you might want to validate the copies you made until you find the incremental/differential that doesn't validate. If none validates, your backup chain has been compromised.
